For a few weeks now, I’ve been working with colleagues to make our WordPress development more professional.
Not just simple staging, which is a good basis in itself and should normally be part of the basic equipment.
But really with Git, pipelines, Bedrock, DDEV, scripts, WP CLI and co.
Today we went through it completely. Production moved to the local development environment, changes to the code versioned with Git and pushed to staging. We tested the whole thing and then put it online in production.
It’s really cool when you do it for the first time. 🤓
This has laid the foundations. Now it’s time to use it all and optimise it further.
The next stop would probably be automatic testing with Playwright or something similar.
